Clifford M. Smith Jr., who is better known as “KIP”, was born on February 9, 1971 to his parents Clifford M. Smith Sr. and Joan Smith. “Kip”, attended Yonkers schools and finished his academic schooling at Lincoln High School. After his formal education, “Kip” worked for the New York State Thruway for quite some time where he did bridge maintenance work.
“Kip” was predeceased by his father, Clifford M. Smith Sr. and is survived by his mother: Joan Smith (Yonkers), his son: Christopher Smith of (Georgia), and siblings: Robert (Ulster County), Kellie (Yonkers), Antoine (Yonkers), Cherie (Yorktown), and Christina (Arizona).
“Kip” has several nieces: Kerri, JaLyssa, Danielle, Jessica, JaLyah, Alexandra, and Ari, as well as nephew: Drequan and great nephews Haji and Jaeden, along with great-niece Gabrielle.
“Kip” will always be deeply loved and missed by his family and will be forever remembered by his friends as the “Prankster, Wise-A** and Comedian”.
“Kip” was well-known in the Riverdale Ave community for his infectious smile, his swagger and long lasting cologne.
As “Kip” Rests in Paradise, his legacy of Love and Life will continue on.
Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday November18th at 11am. Final disposition will be private.
