Carol A. Moran

Carol A. Moran (nee Twitchell), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Wednesday May 25, 2016 at Montefiore Hospital in New Rochelle. She was 93 years old. She was born on June 29, 1922 to Henry and Josephine Harney Twitchell in Yonkers where she was raised and educated graduating from Sacred Heart Grade School and Gorton High School. On January 29, 1949, she married Edward F. Moran in Yonkers. Mr. Moran died on April 13, 2009. Mrs. Moran was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Survivors include one son, Edward F. Moran Jr. of Yonkers and one daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Moran of New York City. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Caroline, a great granddaughter, Adelaide and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Doris Carpenick, a brother, Harry Twitchell and a daughter in law, Margaret Harney. Visitation will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday May 28th at 11am. Final disposition will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Covenant House, 461 Eighth Avenue, New York, N.Y. 10001 or the charity of your choice.
