Tina Marie Haley-Laird, passed away on November 15, 2024, in Selah, WA, at the age of 58. Born on September 11, 1966, in Walla Walla, WA, Tina’s vibrant spirit and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Tina proudly served in the US Army for 18 years, including combat service in the Gulf War. Her dedication continued beyond her military career as she remained closely connected with many of her fellow veterans. Professionally, Tina was committed to her role as a GS Employee for the Federal Government from 2007 until 2015, with duty stations at Ft Irwin, CA, Ft Lewis, WA, Herlong, CA, and USACE Vicksburg, MS.
She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Excelsior College, which furthered her skills and contributions in her professional life. Beyond her professional and military achievements, Tina was a soul who found joy in the simpler pleasures of life. An avid fisher, talented guitar player, and enthusiastic karaoke singer, she also enjoyed crafting and was an acclaimed Elvis tribute artist.
Family was the cornerstone of Tina’s life, not limited by blood relations alone, as she embraced many around the world as her own. She is survived by her spouse Julie Laird; cousin Christy Haley; nephew Steven Haley and his daughter Ember; nieces Morgan Hawkins and her daughter Averie, Meranda Hawkins and her children Jayden, Jaxon, and Amelia; and many children and grandchildren from her previous marriage to James McLendon, aka Tony. Tina was preceded in death by her mother Donna Haley and Aunt Katherine Haley.
A service celebrating Tina’s life will be held December 7th 2024 at 2 pm at Langevin El Paradise Funeral Home in Yakima, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory. The Langevin El Paradise Funeral Home in Yakima, WA, is assisting with the arrangements. Tina’s legacy of love, bravery, and generosity will forever be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
