Marcel Peter (Pete) Dufault

Marcel Peter (Pete) Dufault, 93, of Moxee, WA peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Pete was born on August 3, 1928 in Yakima, WA to Peter Noel and Dulcina (Beaulaurier) Dufault. He attended Holy Rosary Grade School and graduated from St. Martins High School. Following graduation he returned to the family home and began his farming career. Pete was a hops farmer for 26 years until he retired from farming and went to work for East Valley School District for seventeen years.

On October 21, 1950 Pete married Mary Delora Fraser (Dode) and they had six children together. Pete and Dode were very involved in all six children's activities and lives. They cherished time spent together including the many family gatherings at Eschbach Park and dancing on Saturday nights. Many trips to the Oregon Coast with family and friends were enjoyed by all. For several years flying his Quicksilver Ultralight Aircraft brought him many hours of enjoyment.

He was an active member of Holy Rosary Parish and sang in the choir. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2303 and served as a past Grand Knight. Pete was a man of great faith that guided him throughout his lifelong journey.

He is survived by the love of his life, Dode, of 71 years, along with six children, Jim Dufault, Doug Dufault (Diane), Sandy Fielder (Joel), Carol DeGooyer (Bob), Patrick Dufault, Ted Dufault (Michaela); ten grandchildren Jason Dufault (Angie), Ryan Fielder (Hester), Jenny Bauersfeld (Dane), Matt DeGooyer (Laura), Aaron Fielder (Casey), Ashley Lee (Taft), Angela Fielder, Michael DeGooyer (Jayme), Blake Dufault, and Lexi Dufault along with 13 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Carmel Dufault as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Leon Dufault, Conrad Dufault, and Emil Dufault; sisters, Annette Yeend and Sister Esther Dufault, S.P.; sisters-in-law, Monica Dufault, and Margaret Dufault; and brother-in-law Myron Yeend.

Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception immediately following in the Parish Hall. Private interment will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Cemetery or Holy Rosary Church.

The family would like to acknowledge those who have cared for and befriended Pete while he lived at Creekstone Senior Living and the last week at Trios Health Southridge Hospital in Kennewick.
