Leona moved to Washington where she met Alfred Vernon and they married soon after and had three lovely children. Leona worked at the Yakima Valley School in Selah for many years.
Leona is survived by her son, Ron Vernon and his wife Cheryl, and her daughter, Virginia Layman both of Selah. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Leona is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred; son Marvin and son-in-law, Orville Layman. She was also preceded in death by brothers, George Stiner, Warren Stiner and Cecil Stiner, sisters, Dora Lewis and Bertha Lewis and granddaughter, Janice Layman and a great-grandson Joshua Layman.
Leona was one of the most caring and giving people ever. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel on Saturday and Sunday, July 14 and 15 from 12:00 until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Concluding services and burial will follow at West Hills Memorial Park.
