It is with great sadness that the family of John Allen Sandifer announces his passing after a sudden heart attack on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018 at the age of 81 years. He was born in Grand Coulee, WA. John always said it was 20 below zero when he was born. He was born Jan. 20, 1937, first of three boys.
John will be lovingly remembered by all his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and May. He had two brothers, Wayne E. of Richland, WA, and James L. of Anna, TX, two nephews, Scott of Pasco, and Kevin of Rhome, TX, and a niece, Tamara Wilson of McKinney, TX, three great nieces, and a great nephew, and two sisters in-law, Velma & Carol.
A native of Yakima, WA, John at the early age of 12 years old attended Nob Hill Church of God, now Christian Life Center in Yakima. He was a Christian who lived for the Lord and attended church every chance he could. He was a member of The Stone Church and was an employee for numerous years as a custodian.
He attended Central Bible Institute out of Springfield, MO. His hobbies were making ceramics in his spare time, and sharing the finished product with family and friends. He also loved his yard and loved playing with his dog, “Bimbo.”
Visitation and viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Keith & Keith Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at West Hills Memorial Park at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018, 11800 Douglas Rd., Yakima, WA. A Memorial service follows immediately at Keith & Keith Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., 902 W. Yakima Ave., Yakima, WA.
Thereafter, family will meet for lunch at a location to be announced.
