He was born on August 15th 1935 in Boone County, AR to Bill and Mabel Thompson. He had one younger brother, James Nowlin. He graduated from Joe T. Robinson High School in Little Rock in 1954 at the age of 18. As a young man he enjoyed singing and playing guitar, woodworking, and working on cars. This led him to working at a gas station in Tieton, WA where at the age of 19, he met “the prettiest girl he ever saw”, Roberta Grace Conduff. Soon thereafter they were married, had three children, and spent 64 great years together.
After working at the gas station he moved on to work hard at various jobs, later settling at the local Caterpillar dealership for many, many years. He also owned and operated 27 acres of orchard property in the Naches Heights area. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling with his friends and family. As active members of the Moose Lodge, he and Roberta enjoyed spending and donating their time to the charity. He worked extremely hard at everything he did.
He is survived by his son David Thompson of Everett, WA, and daughter, Karen (Pat Marquess) Thompson of Cowiche, WA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Ted (Meghan) Thompson, Jason (Stacy) Thompson, Jimmy (Christal) Ruth, David (Kim) Thompson Jr, Amy (Peter) Rosser, Sarah Thompson, and niece Wena Dove. Ted also has 15 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Roberta, brother Nowlin, and son Steven.
A service will be held at Keith and Keith Funeral Home on July 15th 2022 at 1:00 pm. There will be a gathering to follow at his home in Cowiche.
