Elizabeth A. Bayne, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at her home in Selah surrounded by family. Liz was born June 7, 1939 to Jake Laws and Rosa (Westphal) Laws in Chester Arkansas. They moved to Washington in 1941. She was educated in Wapato, WA, and married Howard “Hodge” Bayne November 21, 1956. Liz worked at canneries before joining the Retail Clerks working for Price Chopper and Meads Thriftway in Selah, WA.
Liz is survived by her children Terry Bayne of Yakima, Steve (Linda) Bayne, Sandy (Lonnie) Upson, Kim (Don) Wangler, Leah Quinnell, all of Selah; and Kelly (Bob) Bettger of Ridgefield WA; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake & Rose, her husband Hodge, her daughter in law Gloria Bayne and son-in-law Willie Quinnell.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her honor to Children’s Hospital in Seattle WA.
A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902.
A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rainier Memorial Center, 2807 Terrace Heights Dr, Yakima, WA 98901.
Serving as pallbearers are Lonnie Upson, Jr., Ronnie Upson, Donnie Wangler, Jr., Jeff Wangler, Ryan Quinnell and Jake Quinnell.
