Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Eagan

Elizabeth "Betsy" Eagan, age 67, of Yakima, passed away Saturday July 4, 2015. She was born May 20, 1948 in Kewaunee, WI to Arthur and Mary Jane (Marsicek) Schanilec. After college she moved to Fairbanks, AK where she met her husband Bill, with whom she spent 40 wonderful years. After their marriage they settled in Yakima where they have remained since.

Betsy loved her time outside tending to plants and flowers, and was well known by neighbors and friends as an amazing cook and baker. Everyone looked forward to the holidays when she would create packages of baked goodies for close family friends. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She always thought of others more than herself, and enjoyed taking care of her husband Bill, making her son Shaun's favorite foods, and "spoiling" her young grandson Joseph.

Betsy is survived by her husband Bill; son Shaun and daughter-in law Priscilla; her only grandchild Joseph Eagan; her mother, Mary Jane Schanilec; five brothers: Richard (friend Angie), David, John (Gail), Leonard (Mary), and Glenn (Linda) Schanilec. She was preceded in death by her father Arthur Schanilec and two infant siblings.

A memorial service in her honor will be held at Keith and Keith Funeral home on July 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Fr. Darell Mitchell of the Diocese of Yakima followed by her burial in Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to all of her family and friends for their support during these times. May her soul rest in peace knowing her loving memory is always in our hearts.
