Doris was born January 16th, 1920 in Toppenish, Washington to Cecil and Emma Walker. She married Floyd E. Foster in September 1938. They made their home in Yakima, Washington where they raised their four daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Foster shared forty-five wonderful years of marriage before Mr. Foster passed away.
She was also-preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Phyllis Helsel, one sister and two brothers. She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Sprenkle of Yakima, Washington, Linda Thompson-Newport Richey, Florida, Patricia (Little) Barnsley and son-In-law Ronald Barnsley of Bonney Lake, Washington, twenty-one grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Doris spent most of her years as a homemaker; however, in her later years she worked at the Yakima Firing Center and St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Doris enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and fishing with her husband. She was also an avid reader and she looked forward to her weekly sewing circle, but she loved nothing more than spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held TODAY Friday, October 17, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Keith and Keith Funeral Home. A Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Keith and Keith Funeral Home,902 W Yakima Ave. Doris will be laid to rest at West Hills Memorial Park)1800 Douglas Rd. Her family invites you to join them in a celebration of her beautiful life to be held at the Yakima Arboretum, 1401 Arboretum Dr. following her service.
