Born and raised in Yakima, she spent her entire adult life here in town. She attended Davis High School. Carol worked as a receptionist at Memorial Hospital for many years.
Carol & George married in 1977. They enjoyed about 30 years 30 years at their cabin at Rimrock Lake. They met great friends and made wonderful family memories.
She followed her husband and 2 sons in their careers in late model stock car racing here in town and around the state. NASCAR was a very important part of her life every year. She and George traveled to many big racetracks with friends.
You could often find them at Legend’s Casino in Toppenish (all the dealers called her by name) where she was a very lucky winner.
She also loved following football and baseball, especially college games. Carol did wonderful handwork such as needlepoint, cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting and quilting for her family.
Carol is survived by George W. Michael, her husband of 42 years; her sons Rick and wife Lynn Hitchcock, Randy Hitchcock; sister Linda Brown; 2 granddaughters, Shelby Hitchcock and Chelsea Hitchcock; 1 grandson, Zane Hitchcock; 4 nephews, John, Todd and James Lehmann and Justin Baisch; 2 nieces, Lora Kupferer and Kate Brown; 2 great grandchildren, Mackala and Quentin Hitchcock. She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Geraldine Baisch, sister Joy Fearon and brother Ken Baisch.
Visitation will be at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral service will be Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
