William Barton Bigelow, born November 4th, 1943, passed away September 6th, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service. Bill's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to education, and he made a profound impact on countless lives during his long- distinguished career at Columbus City Schools.
Bill was a vocational educator and administrator who brought passion and enthusiasm to his work every day. He inspired countless students and staff, leading by example and exemplifying leadership.
Bill was known for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor and making others laugh. He had a knack for connecting with people, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He knew no stranger. Bill had an infectious enthusiasm for the Buckeyes, always responding to O-H with his I-O. He marched in the OSU band while attending The Ohio State University.
He loved the sunshine and being at the pool. He cherished his time at the beach and his vacations with his wife and family. He adored his children and grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife, Glenna Bigelow. Children Robyn (George) Gauvin, Bryan Bigelow, Kim (Matt) Crabtree, Kelle (Chris) Tarby. Grandchildren Ashley, Zach, Kate, Jack, Cory and Madison. Brother Bruce (Melody) Bigelow and Cousin Teresa Trostmiller. Lifelong friends Gary (Barb) Mackenzie and Jim (Monica) Price among so many others he befriended along the way.
Preceded in death by his parents (Mary and Barton Bigelow), daughter in law Susan Bigelow and granddaughter Kyla Rapp.
A visitation for William "Bill" will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM.
