Ursula Corbett, 88, of Dublin, passed away on March 3, 2023. She was born on June 21, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late George and Ann (McBride) Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Maureen & brother-in-law Jack Hyland; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Corbett.
In her early days, Ursula was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Brooklyn, where her mother was the church organist. She attended St. Brendan’s high school. Ursula and Jack were married in 1957 and moved to the Bay Ridge neighborhood, where they joined St. Ephrem’s parish. After raising four children, she went to work as a real estate agent.
Ursula, Jack and daughter Cynthia moved to Columbus Ohio in 1983, and settled in the Worthington neighborhood, joining St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She worked for years at Appleby Medical Imaging and enjoyed her hobbies of reading, cooking, and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed music, theater, sketching/painting and sports. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
Ursula was always kind and gracious, and had a quick sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her husband, John “Jack” Corbett; children, Steve Corbett, Bill (Virginia) Corbett, Glenn Corbett, and Cynthia (Mike) Humphry; grandchildren, Caitlin Corbett, Danielle (Perry) Kehmna, Jack Humphry, Megan Humphry, Molly Corbett and Ruby Corbett; her sister, Geri (Bob) Williams and her extended family and friends.
Services are as follows:
May 13th (10:30) - Mass at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Worthington, OH
May 13th (Immediately following mass) - Interment of ashes ceremony at Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center, OH
