Patricia A McGuire

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Patricia Ann (Leary) McGuire of Worthington OH on Sunday, January 28, 2024. She was born on March 19, 1948 to the late Henry A. and Dorothea F. Leary in Fall River, MA. 

Trish was predeceased by her devoted husband, Arthur McGuire, and is survived by her three loving children, Michael McGuire and his wife Veronica, of Bexley, OH, James McGuire and his fiancé Lenore Rickert of Upper Arlington, OH and Maureen Schimmoeller and her husband Brad, of Hilliard, OH, along with the loves of her life, her grandchildren: Graziella, Vivienne, and Alaina McGuire and Claire and Luke Schimmoeller. 

Trish graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Fall River, MA and earned a degree from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI. Trish worked with the elderly at Mother Angeline McCory Manor as an activities director, enlivening the halls with joy and the occasional fun costume. However, Trish spent most of her days caring for her children and grandchildren. 

With her bright blue eyes and infectious smile, Trish lit up any room she entered. She was a devoted friend to many and was voted Miss Congeniality by her classmates at Johnson and Wales. A true conversationalist, Trish had the rare ability to make those around her feel heard and important. 

Trish was blessed with a beautiful singing voice, participating in multiple choirs throughout her life, including leading the congregants at St. Michael’s. She was a joy to listen to when singing Irish ballads. In 2006, with encouragement from Art, Trish fulfilled a lifelong dream when she recorded a CD; each song a declaration of love to her family, friends and faith.

Trish was a Parishioner of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Worthington, OH where she dedicated her life to her Christian beliefs. 

Trish also leaves behind her brother, James H. Leary and his wife Patricia, of Amherst, NH; her cousin Robert Golz and his wife Deborah, of Swansea, MA; her brother-in-law Peter McGuire and his wife Denise of Wrentham, MA, and her late brother-in- law John McGuire and his wife Karen of Franklin, MA, along with her loving nieces and nephews. 

Come join us in celebrating Patricia’s life. Calling hours for Patricia will be at Schoedinger 6699 N. High St, Worthington, OH 43085 on Wednesday February 7th, 2024, from 4-7pm.  The Funeral Service will be held at St Michael’s Catholic Church, Worthington, OH on Thursday February 8th, 2024, at 10am.
