Mary Ellen Angeletti, age 87, died on December 8, 2024 at 7:45 AM. She was born Mary Ellen Regan in Wilmington, Ohio on August 24th, 1937. She was the youngest child of Dorotha E. Blackburn and William L. Regan, M.D., both of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by a sister, Patricia Cartwright, and a brother, John R. Regan, and a husband, Charles R. Angeletti. She graduated from Wilmington High School in the class of 1955. She attended one year of school at the Ursuline Academy at St. Martin, Ohio in 1950. She later met Charles Richard Angeletti, to whom she was married for 63 years. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1958 with a B.S. in Elementary Education where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She received her M.A. in Reading Education from OSU on November 26, 1975. She was an elementary teacher in the Columbus Public Schools for 32 years where she served as both a classroom teacher and a reading/math/computer lab teacher for the Department of Federal State Programs (Title1). She was assigned to Northwood Elementary School, East Linden Elementary School, South Mifflin Elementary School, East Columbus Elementary School, Salem Elementary School, and Oakland Park Traditional Elementary School. She retired from her teaching career in 1998 and became active as a volunteer at the Inniswood Metro Park in the Herb Garden as Garden Maintenance Chair for the Central Ohio Unit of the Herb Society of America. She was a member of the Worthington Hills Garden Club, the Gamma Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma (an educational sorority for retired teachers), CORE (Concerned Ohio Retired Educators), ORTA, and CEA-R. In retirement, she and her husband traveled extensively throughout the world. She is survived by one son, Chris C. Angeletti of Johnstown, Ohio and five nieces, two nephews, and cousins. According to her wishes, she will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Services in Worthington on January 3rd, 2025, from 9 AM to 12 PM. Inurnment will be private at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
