Mark Alan Stewart passed away on March 25, 2025, at his home in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Mark was born December 30, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio to his parents, Jack and Wilma Stewart, who preceded him in death. Mark graduated from Worthington High School and attended Miami University of Ohio. He was a Business Psychology major and member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
He was the retired president and co-owner of TRANSInternational System, a family-owned transportation and logistics company, founded in 1975.
Mark was a co/founder and a major part of The Addict’s Parents United, a national non-profit community of support for parents with children with the disease of addiction, parents of loss and/or raising grandchildren due to their child’s substance use disorder. He and his wife Brenda traveled and spoke all over Ohio, were part of a 60Minutes segment on the disease and did several TV and other interviews regarding their journey.
Mark was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend. He was a man of great warmth, intelligence and unwavering love for his family. He brought joy and laughter into every room, always ready with a kind word, and a helping hand, or a clever solution to any problem. He took immense pride in the home he created, filling it with love – and an array of high-tech gadgets. Now, with him gone, his family is left not just with an irreplaceable void in their hearts, but also a house full of electronics no one quite understands how to operate without him.
Marks legacy is one of love, laughter, humor and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us his spirit lives on in the lives he touched, the wisdom he shared and the love he so freely gave. He will be deeply missed, always loved, and forever remembered. Heaven gained an amazing angel. They broke the mold when he was made. His endless wit, and his ability to turn anything into a life lesson will all be truly missed by all who knew him.
Mark is survived by and will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Brenda Stewart; children Jason Stewart, Jared (Sandy) Stewart, Danielle (Tom) Gurtler, Richard Kreager, Jeremy Kreager, Skyler Kreager, Kenneth Kreager; grandchildren Nicholas, Devan, Gage and Ayvah; brother John (Marjorie) Stewart; sister Cindy (Raymond) Miller; nieces Kelsey, Shelby and Angie; as well as many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and cherished friends.
His family will receive visitors on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Services, Worthington, 6699 N. High Street from 1pm to 3pm and from 3:30pm to 6pm.
6pm Celebration of Life Service officiated by Pastor Greg Delaney.
In LIEU of flowers Mark had requested that Memorial contributions please be made to The Addict’s Parents United at https://tapunited.org/donate/ in his memory to be able to continue giving back to others.
Continue to share your memories of Mark and consider this favorite quote as we move forward during this time of loss:
Every moment of now holds the promise of a new choice. Ask yourself, "Do I want to be the victim or the victor, the receiver of life's abundant joy or a sufferer of life's miseries?” You can have what you ask for, but only if you are willing to take responsibility for what is occurring within you right now. Once you choose to live fully responsible for the asking, you'll come to also be responsible for the receiving. Give yourself credit for the achievements and the mistakes, the good choices and the bad ones. Then you will get that you are not a victim and never have been. You are a victor. Victory is yours within this moment's choice to be responsible. Choose Well.
