Kathryn Malone

Kathryn Mae (Griest) Malone went home to her Heavenly Father on December 11, 2024. She was born in New Lisbon, Indiana, and graduated from New Concord High School and Muskingum College. Katy was a retired teacher and tutor from the Columbus Public Schools, and a member of the Grace Polaris Church. Katy was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mildred Griest, brother Kenneth Griest, and her husband of 58 years, Bob Malone. She is survived by her sons Greg (Heidi) Malone of Canton, Alan (Heather) Malone of Powell; grandchildren Caitlin Malone and Aaron Malone; special grandchildren Heather (Jamie) Rhoads; and special great grandson Evan Rhoads. Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 3pm – 6pm, and Thursday, December 19 from 10am – 11am at Schoedinger Worthington Funeral Home, with funeral service at 11am. Burial will be at Flint Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Grace Polaris Church or Worthington Christian School are encouraged. The family wishes to thank the staff of Worthington Christian Village and Luminary Hospice for their outstanding care.
