John McCormack, 63, of Long Bottom Ohio, passed away on June 25, 2023. He was born on October 14, 1959, to Richard and Patricia (Sposato) McCormack. In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Julia Sposato.
John was passionate about Judo and is even in the Martial arts hall of fame for instructor of the year in 2006. He served in The United States Marine Corps for 4 years, where he was honorably discharged as a Corporal. Upon leaving the military he was a professional rescue dog trainer/owner of Semper fi k9 training and advocate for veterans receiving trained service animals for more than 15 years. Additionally, John was a truck driver and driving instructor for Swift trucking company and loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
John will be greatly missed by his partner Connie Reid; beloved daughter, Kathrine Eldridge; children, John, Cheyanne, and Anthony McCormack; Beloved Grandchildren, Josh and Evelyn Eldridge; grandchildren, Julianna, Danielle, Elizabeth, and Samuel McCormack; and his mother, Patricia McCormack; his brother and sisters who served alongside him; and numerous extended family and close family friends.
A visitation for John will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 19, 2023, from 4pm until 9pm at the Hoover Shelter #7 by the (red bank marina) at the Hoover Dam Reservoir in Westerville.
