Janet Faye Jones

Janet Faye Jones, 90, of Marysville and formerly of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Janet was born on March 17,1933 in Meigs County, Ohio to Kearney and Anna (Folden) Ogdin, both deceased. Janet graduated from Rutland High School as the valedictorian of her class after finishing high school in 3 years and was inducted into Mensa. She completed business training in Columbus and began her career as a personal secretary to the head of the Department of Agriculture for the State of Ohio. On March 28, 1953, she married Herbert Eugene Jones. Herb as he was affectionately called passed away on March 21, 2020, one week before their 67th wedding anniversary.

Janet is survived by her children Connie (John) Doss and Keith Jones, sister Maxine Griffith and niece, Karen Griffith. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Charles Griffith.

Janet spent a majority of her life caring for her husband and children. Along with her husband, she spent many years volunteering at Worthington Christian Village. Janet and Herb were members of Discover Christian Church for over 55 years faithfully volunteering their time.

Janet and Herb spent many years traveling and camping. Janet and Herb also enjoyed attending activities of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janet continued to enjoy the outdoors working in her flower beds. She enjoyed reading, especially cookbooks, and was known for her luscious desserts.

A visitation for Janet will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
