Mary Jane (Beideschies) Forrest, 80, went to meet her Lord and Savior, on August 27, 2024. Born in Mansfield, Ohio on June 25, 1944, she was the daughter of Curtis Edward Beidelschies and Viola Lavurn Finley.
Jane graduated from Madison High School in Mansfield in 1962, where her mother was the secretary. Jane and her siblings couldn’t get away with anything, having their mom right there in the building with them. Jane then met the love of her life for 56 years, Marion “Butch” Forrest Jr., while he was in the US Navy. Butch proposed that very same weekend in which they met. They married in the Spring of 1968. That same year, Jane’s sister, JoAnne, married Butch’s brother, Dale. It’s not often you find sisters marrying brothers, especially two months apart from each other.
Jane loved to garden. One season earlier in their marriage, she and her husband planted peas. They ended up with 80 pints of peas that year. Jane also adored dolls, everything purple, Niagara Falls, making pies and cakes, the beauty of flowers, landscaping, and watching the butterflies and birds when they came to visit their many bird feeders.
Jane was a secretary at East Side Grace Brethren Church for 25 years, where she was also a member. In addition, she was the Sunday School teacher for the three-year-old class at the church. This is where you’ll find one of Jane’s main gifts- her great love of children. She so enjoyed actively playing with her own children and grandchildren, as well as any other child that crossed her path. Jane made a lasting impression on many lives.
Surviving are her husband, Marion “Butch” Forrest Jr.; son, Brian (Bobbi) Forrest; daughter Christy (Jim) Cuschleg; grandchildren, Preston Forrest, Camden Forrest, Grayson Forrest, Hudson Forrest, Sara Cuschleg, and Ryan Cuschleg; siblings, Edward Beidelschies and JoAnne Forrest; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Forrest.
A visitation for Jane will be held Tuesday September 10, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at East Side Grace Brethren Church, 7510 East Broad Street, Blacklick, Ohio 43004, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM.
