Emily J. Bull, 86, of Worthington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, surrounded by her children. Born on July 9, 1938, in Daisytown, Pennsylvania, Emily was the beloved daughter of the late Louis Antal and Mary Havrilesko. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Lawrence M. Bull, in 2002.
Emily's life was one of love, devotion, and boundless energy. She met Larry in 1958 while working at Columbia Gas in Washington, Pennsylvania. Their instant connection blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and their love became the foundation of Emily’s world. In 1968, Emily and Larry moved to Worthington, Ohio, where they raised their family and created a warm and loving home.
Emily had a zest for life and a passion for learning. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in business and worked a variety of jobs through the years including being a realtor, Collier Equipment, and in her later years, found fulfillment working at Marshall’s for 25 years, where she formed lasting friendships. Her sharp mind and love of problem-solving were evident in her daily crossword puzzles and sudoku, rituals she enjoyed for decades.
Emily cherished her Hungarian and Russian heritage and found joy in cooking traditional dishes like chicken paprikash, cabbage rolls, and nut torte. She loved crafting and playing bridge, hobbies that brought her happiness and camaraderie. She also relished traveling internationally with her dear friends, visiting Williamsburg with her sister, and spending winters in Daytona Beach with Larry. Emily treasured time spent with her sister, Mary Lou Roscoe, her mother, Mary, and her niece and nephews in Pennsylvania.
Family was Emily’s greatest pride and joy. She will be deeply missed by her children, Mike (Kelly) Bull, Tony (Phillis) Bull, Laura (George) Bommer, and Jamie (Wendy) Bull; her grandchildren, Michael (Meghan) and Daniel (Emily) Bull, Haley and Carly Bull, Katie (Kyle) Rasmussen, Emily and George (Kayleigh) Bommer, Austin, Conner (Jenna Wilson), and Andrew Bull; and her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Johnathan, Banks, Berkley, and Ava.
A visitation for Emily will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Columbus, OH 43235.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Emily’s name may be made to the Kobacker House or St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Emily’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will never be forgotten.
