Ellis Carter Grossmann died Tuesday February 6, 2024, at his home in Delaware, OH. He passed away comfortably in his parents’ arms, surrounded by family. Ellis was born September 1, 2022, a perfect 8lb 12oz rainbow baby bundle of joy. Every single day of his 17 months of life here on earth, Ellis brought and joy and happiness to anyone that met him. To know Ellis was to know pure, true love. His curly red hair and striking blue eyes brought a smile to every single person’s face as soon as they saw him. Ellis absolutely adored his big brother Matthew. Even though he was oftentimes in physical discomfort with changing positions, as long as Matthew was nearby- covering him in kisses and speaking in a soft sweet voice meant only for him- Ellis was the most content and comfortable you would ever see him. Whether they were splashing in a bubble bath together, simply cuddling on the floor, or smooshed together into a laundry basket- being pulled around the house to pretend they were riding in a boat to the beach- if the two Grossmann boys were side by side, they were completely happy and utterly content. Never one for peace and quiet, Ellis’ favorite time of day was in the afternoon when Matthew got home from school- bursting through the front door and running over to say hi- their 2 dogs following along barking behind him the whole way. He loved all genres of music, but his absolute favorite song was Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley. A few more of Ellis’ favorite things included playing with squishy toys, smiling up at his mommy’s face, and listening to his daddy’s voice. Even though Ellis was only on this earth for a short period of time he brought more people together, and provided more joy to people he hadn’t even personally met, than most are able to in an entire long- lasting lifetime. Surviving are Ellis’ loving parents Joseph IV & Abbey (Moran) Grossmann and big brother Matthew Grossmann, (Delaware, OH) Grandparents Terry & Kimberly Moran, (Continental, OH) Catherine Grossmann, (York, PA) and Joseph Grossmann III (Dover, DE) Great- Grandparents Larry & JoAnn Troyer, (Cloverdale, OH) Aunts, Uncles & Cousins: James, Lindsay, Scarlett, Lillian & Stella McNichols (Delaware, OH) Ryan, Shaelyn, Emmett, Tucker & Hayes Moran (Ottawa, OH) and his especially adored caregiver Carley Downing (Delaware, OH). Ellis was preceded in death by Great Grandparents Delbert & Norma Moran and Charlene Engles.
