Betty was also preceded in death by her parents Ben Brienza and Marie Ashbaugh and grandson Edward Richard Snead.
She leaves behind those who will miss her terribly but celebrate her life ~ Daughters Erin Kelly Huggler (Glenn) and Deborah Kay Smith; granddaughter Michelle Renee Zarzeczny (Jim); great grandchildren Fleur Zarzeczny, Hayley Corwin and Christian Corwin (Tatiana); great great grandson Liam Corwin and the many friends whose lives she touched.
Betty was a central Ohio native and worked side by side with her husband, Ed, for many years.
She was a wonderful second mom to many of her daughter's friends.
Betty loved music - everything from gospel to Johnny Cash to Rod Stewart!
She loved to dance, too. She and Ed would put on their finest western wear and kick up their heels square dancing.
Betty was known for making the best chocolate chip cookies! and her HUGE love of animals.
In her later years, she was known as the Dog Lady. There wasn't a dog in her condo complex she didn't know and always had the treats ready!
Betty could have just as easily been called the Cat Lady, however. She always had a cat or two or three in her home.
When she had to make her final move two years ago to the wonderful Galena Manor, it nearly broke her heart to leave her last kitty, Mickey. She was so very grateful to find a kind woman to adopt Mickey. He is once again King of the House!
Thankfully, there was good news for Betty in her last residence in Galena. There were always one or two or three doggies at all times - she was still the Dog Lady with a drawer full of treats.
Tremendous gratitude to Galena Manor for providing a loving home environment and wonderful caregivers these past two years. Her family never had to worry about her care.
And so much appreciation to Betty's entire medical teams from Healthy Alliance and Mount Carmel Hospice. The care and love they gave her the last months of her life on this Earth meant the World to her and her family.
Memorial Service to be held on at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Worthington, Ohio on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, Betty would appreciate donations made to any animal charity of your choice.
