Lifelong Worcester resident, Milton Goldfarb died July 28th 2012 at the Golden Living Center Hermitage in Worcester. Worcester’s “Pickle King”, Mr. Goldfarb, was the owner and operator of the Worcester Pickle Company founded in 1912 by his father Jacob. For over 60 years until his retirement in the 1990s using their original, still secret, recipe he produced and distributed a half sour pickle equal or better than any on the lower east side of New York. A handyman who enjoyed fixing anything and a collector of antiques, Mr. Goldfarb loved yard sales, as well as fishing and playing cards.
The beloved husband of the late Shirley (Guzik) Goldfarb and father of the late Frances Goldfarb, he is survived by his daughters Joan Tomasino & her husband Larry of Worcester and Diane Fertman & her husband Norm of Burke, VA, a sister, Ruth Arnold & her husband Marshall and a brother Herb Goldfarb, grandchildren Sheryl Fertman, Ellen Strain, Laura Pierce, Alisha Compagnone, Rondi Hickey, Trevor Tomasino and great-grandchildren Brandyn, Josslyn, Cole, Blake, Alex and Jacob. He was predeceased by two sisters, the late Rose Abrams and Vivian Franks.
Services and interment were at the Holy Society Cemetery in Leicester.
