William Gregory Boyd

William Gregory Boyd, 63, passed away on September 19, 2019 in Douglasville, GA. He was born in Newark, NJ to the late Hattie Mae Boyd and Willie Oscar Boyd on August 29, 1956. He went to high school at Weequahic High School and graduated with his diploma. He went on to enlist in the Armed Forces as a Marine where he served his country with high honors. In 1977, William reached Corporal rank and was honorably discharged in 1980. In 1981, he became the proud father of William Gregory Davis. He worked in landscaping for several years after.

William is preceded in death by his wife Carrie Boyd, mother and father Hattie Mae and Willie Boyd, and nephew Shafe Boyd-Cruz.

William is survived by his son, William; sisters, Monica Boyd, Donna Kumar, and Linda Boyd; brother, Tyrone Boyd; nieces, Monique Boyd-Cruz and Domonique Boyd; nephews, Syid Boyd and Javiel Boyd; daughter-in-law, Nicole Brady-Slue; and grandchildren, Gregory, Justin, and Gabriella Davis; and a list of extended family and loved ones.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia for the special care that they were able to give him in his short time with them.

A graveside service with military honors will be on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 10:30am at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
