Sandra Morrow Vaughn

Sandra "Sandy" Morrow Vaughn, born on Tuesday, October 3, 1950, in Greenville South Carolina, was the beloved daughter of Robert and Edith Morrow. She graduated from North Springs High School in 1968, where she met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Steve Vaughn. The two married shortly after graduation.

Sandy was a proud mother to her two daughters, Laura, born in 1969, and Melanie, born in 1971. Her family was the center of her world, and she delighted in creating memories with them. Sandy had a long and distinguished career of over 40 years as a medical secretary at Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic, where she worked for Dr. Dimon, Dr. Smith and Dr. Smith, where everyone she worked with became like family.

Sandy’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought light and laughter to her life. She was an active member of Woodstock Baptist Church, where she was baptized and her faith thrived.

Sandy had a passion for life and cherished simple pleasures. She loved baking delicious cakes and cookies, landscaping her yard, enjoying peaceful walks, and indulging in shopping sprees. Her favorite seasons were Fall and Christmas that she celebrated with heartfelt enthusiasm. She especially enjoyed the beauty of the autumn leaves in the GA mountains and attending seasonal events such as country fairs, fall festivals, and the beloved Apple Festival in Ellijay.

Sandy’s warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.

Sandra is survived by her two daughters, Laura (David) Taylor, Melanie Vaughn (Todd Allmond); three grandchildren, Faith (Baxter) Beasley, Logan (Lyl) Taylor, Zachary (Tori) Taylor; four great grandchildren, Averie Taylor, Colton Taylor, Mason Taylor, and Everleigh Taylor, as well as her sister, Ann (David) Blackwell, and by her brother, Steve (Rebecca) Morrow.

In addition to her parents, Sandra is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Steve Vaughn, and sister, Elizabeth Morrow.

A Celebration of Life for Sandra Vaughn will be held Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11:00 am at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia. There will be a reception following the service for all that want to join.
