Joseph Anthony Coppola Jr.

Mr. Joseph Anthony Coppola, Jr, 74, of Acworth, Georgia passed away February 18, 2017. Joseph was born on February 1, 1943 in Port Chester, New York to the late Joseph and Rose Coppola. He honorably served in the United States Air Force. Joseph enjoyed a career as a computer programmer, working for the State of Georgia in Atlanta.

Joseph loved spoiling his grandchildren, especially on birthdays and at Christmas. He adored his dogs, who were a constant presence by his side throughout his life. His happiest times were the holidays and traveling on family vacations. Joseph enjoyed visiting new places such as the Grand Canyon, the Blue Ridge and Rocky Mountains, and Italy. Joseph was a generous man, and he gave freely to those who he felt he could help. Cooking for family and friends was a passion and a tradition Joseph has passed on to his sons.

Joseph will be immensely missed by his friends and family. He leaves behind sons, Christopher Coppola (Mary Kathryn) and Nicholas Coppola (Lara), grandchildren, Sydney, Colin, Sofia, and Vincent and sister Ann Murthy(Murth). A celebration of life for Joseph will be Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 5:00pm in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph’s memory to The Humane Society of Atlanta, www.atlantahumane.org or The Nature Conservancy, www.nature.org.
