John Roy Coker

Roy held several positions at Lockheed & Martin over his 25 year span. He was a small engine mechanic and enjoyed tinkering with his lawnmowers and saws. He was a story teller and found joy in sharing his memories with his friends and family.

Roy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances Coker; daughters, Dianne Rountree (Tom) of Cheraw, South Carolina, Pamela Peel (Brian) of Woodstock, Georgia, Donna Wardlaw of Oak Island, North Carolina and Deborah Pruitt (Ed) of Oak Island, North Carolina; grandchildren, Byron Pruitt, Mitchell Pruitt, Amanda West, Mechelle Robinson, Hunter Wardlaw, Jessica Gallagher, Jonathon Rountree, Josiah Rountree, Joshua Peel, Justin Peel and Sarah Peel; great-grandchildren, Isaac Robinson, Jenna Robinson, Sydney West, Samantha Pruitt, Chelsea Pruitt, Dylan Pruitt and Caleb Pruitt; brothers, F.S. Coker Jr., Robert Coker, W.A. Coker, Alvin Coker and Bonnell Coker; and sisters, Jerri Brown and Patricia Thomas.

Visitation for Roy will be held Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home 8855 Main Street Woodstock, Georgia 30188. Funeral Services will occur Monday, December 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Baptist Church 6069 Woodstock Road Acworth, Georgia 30102. A burial will follow at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens 4355 Highway 92 Acworth, Georgia 30102.

Serving as pallbearers are Justin Peel, Joshua Peel, Byron Pruitt, Mitchell Pruitt, Hunter Wardlaw, Jonathon Rountree and Josiah Rountree.
