James Parker was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend time with his friends and his daughter at hunting camp. James enjoyed growing produce and loved bringing bags of fresh tomatoes and vegetables to give to his friends and family, James had an amazing green thumb. James also loved bringing his daughter to the races, that was something special they enjoyed together. You may have also seen James in downtown Woodstock, he loved to take walks around the city and we would all give him a honk and he would throw up his arm and wave big if you saw him on one of his Woodstock walks. James Parker was truly a legend to those who grew up in Woodstock.
James also loved to support Mill Creek Baptist church. He was saved and baptized there in his 60’s and anytime the church had a service or activity, you could bet on James Parker being there sitting in his favorite seat on the second row to show his love and support. James Parker loved making up big batches of his famous potato salad and deviled eggs for church or family potlucks, James was a great cook and enjoyed making food for his friends and family.
To know James was to love him. His spirit was so loving and giving, and he would truly do anything for the people he loved so dearly. And boy did he give the best belly laughs and bear hugs! James Parker will be so missed by all of us who loved and treasured him.
