James Thomas Lindsey

James T. Lindsey Sr., 90, of Marietta, died on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. James was born in Washington County, Georgia on July 1, 1932; he was the son of the late Otis F. and Thelma Louise Price Lindsey. Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Stripling Lindsey, to whom he had married for nearly fifty years when she passed away in 2006; his daughters, Leslie and Debra Lindsey; his sons and daughter-in-law, Jim and Melanie Lindsey Jr., and Charles Lindsey; his siblings, Betty, Charles, Ron, Otis, and Carlton. James was a lifelong member of Riddleville Baptist Church. James served our country in The United States Navy. Along with his brothers, he founded and operated Lindsey Auto Parts and Sandy Springs Garage. James was an avid fisherman and hunter; he loved to hunt on his family land in Washington County. James was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather.

James is survived by his grandchildren, Adam Lindsey, Alex (Catheryn) Lindsey, Andrew Lindsey, and Lauren Lindsey; his great-grandson, Landon Lindsey; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Lindsey; his brother, Harry (Renny) Lindsey; his sister, Marianne Junger; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

James's family will gather with their friends for visitation on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from noon until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow the visitation on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel.
