Beth Peterson

Mrs. Ruth “Beth” Peterson, 77, of Rome, GA passed away September 11, 2016. She was born in Newport, TN on February 21, 1939. After high school, Beth honorably served in the United States Air Force. She received an associate’s degree from Pensacola Junior College in Horticulture and enjoyed many years working there as a grounds keeper. She took great pleasure in caring for the grounds and working with the disabled. She loved gardening and collecting recipes to make cookbooks with. She loved animals and spent a lot of her time caring for her pets. She also loved to play Connect 4 and Wheel of Fortune. Beth will be immensely missed by many. She was preceded in death by her children’s father, Gerald Clifford Peterson. Beth leaves behind her son Brian and his wife Samantha, daughters, Misty Doughty and her husband Peter and Dianna Peterson, grandchildren, Cynthia Hulsey, Jessica Peterson, Brenna Doughty and Cora Doughty, great-grandson, Mason Hulsey and sisters, Jane Cook and Evelyn Pendergrass. A memorial service will be Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
