Rev. Msgr. Richard F. Dunn

Rev. Msgr. Richard F. Dunn, a retired senior priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn, passed away on Tuesday, March 20th, 2012 in Calvary Hospital after a long illness. Monsignor Dunn was born on April 6, 1932 and was ordained to the Priesthood on May 31,1958.

Monsignor Dunn faithfully served the people of the Diocese of Brooklyn as Pastor of Corpus Christi Church in Woodside from 1987 to 2007 when he retired. He also served as Parochial Vicar of St. Sebastian (Woodside), St. Patrick ( Bay Ridge), St. Therese of Lisieux (Brooklyn) and our Lady of Lourdes (Brooklyn). He was also a Deanery Moderator of the Catholic Youth Organization for South Eastern Kings County. In 1989 he was named Chaplain to His Holiness.

Monsignor Dunn is survived by his sister, Frances and brother -in-law Edward Flynn of New Hyde Park, his sisters-in-law Marguerite Dunn of Staten Island and Mary Jane Dunn of New Hyde Park and many nieces and nephews.

He will be reposing at the Kennedy-Roth Funeral Home 41-45 58th Street Woodside, NY 11377 on Friday from 3 to 9PM. His Funeral Mass will be Saturday 9AM at Corpus Christi R.C. Church Woodside, NY. There will be no viewing of Msgr. Dunn at the Kennedy-Roth Funeral Home on Saturday before his Funeral Mass. Please proceed directly to Corpus Christi Church. His interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
