He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol, of Woodbury; son Daniel, of Minnetonka; and brother Donald, of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada.
Ken, an asthmatic, succumbed to breathing failure following an ordinary hiatal hernia repair. After 45 years in St. Paul, he enjoyed the past 3 years in the Redwoods of St. Therese. Ken built wooden model ships, bowled, and was a skilled chess player and thinker. He was a physical chemist with a Ph.D from the University of Iowa. He was employed at 3M, Maplewood for 27 years.
With family distributed into two countries, there will be a private celebration of life. Memorials can be given to the International Wolf Center, 7100 Northland Circle N, Minneapolis, MN, 55428.
