Harold was born in Spartanburg, SC to Harold Miller and Virginia Louise (Parker). He grew up in South Carolina and graduated college at Furman University. He served in the US Army post graduation. He then joined Crawford & Company and enjoyed a lifelong career with the company. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Dolores “Kito”. They started married life in Richmond, Virginia. Harold moved up the ranks with Crawford and that meant being transferred several times. They moved to Detroit, MI then Green Bay, WI. Their years in Green Bay, during the “Packer heyday”, were some of their best years forging friendships that lasted decades. They made their last relocation when they moved to Woodbury, MN where they raised their daughters. In the early days of Woodbury, Harold was actively involved in the Lion’s Club and other civic activities. Harold and his family also enjoyed many years of boating on the beautiful St. Croix River. During his early retirement years they moved to a home on Prestwick golf course where they delighted in years of golfing several days a week. They had the nicest neighbors and enjoyed many social gatherings and trips with “the Village People”. They also enjoyed winters at their property in FL, which was also on a golf course. They lived in Woodbury, until June of 2024, when they moved to a senior living center in Lake Elmo.
Harold lived a long rich life and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a southern gentleman and will be remembered for his quick wit, gift of storytelling and love for his family.
Harold is survived by his wife Kito, daughters Lorrie, Karen (Rick) Rodenbeck, Joy (Chuck) Pouliot, grandchildren Claire, Kate, Blake and Kyle. Sister, Ann (Phil) Pearce of Durham, NC.
A celebration of life service is planned for the spring of 2025.
