Iva Elaine Melvin

Elaine is predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, John Bertal Melvin, and brothers Melvin Chatterson (Jyl) and Roy Chatterson (Bette).

Elaine is survived by her 3 children, Roderick Melvin, Gwen Champagne (Richard) and Leslie O’Loughlin (TJ); grandchildren, Lisa, Erin and Conor; and great-grandchildren, Preston and Everly.

Elaine was born in Wolseley on September 1, 1926. Following high school, she went to Normal School and then worked as a teacher in Indian Head and Webb where she met her future husband Bert. Following their marriage in 1950, they lived in Archydale for 6 years where Bert was a grain buyer. They then moved to Wolseley where they farmed from 1956 to 1990. Elaine had several jobs including substitute teacher, Activity Director at Lakeside Home and Home Care Director.

She was a devout Christian and was very active in the community as a volunteer and friend. Elaine loved arts and crafts and always had a project on the go.

The funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Tubman Funeral Home, located 210 Claude Street in Wolseley. A reception will follow the interment at Wolseley New Life Church, located 100 Cedar Street, Wolseley.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Circle Square Ranch, Wolf Creek.
