VELESTUK - On Friday, April 20, 2012, Irene Velestuk, widow of Sam Velestuk, Grenfell, SK. died at Lakeside Nursing Home, Wolseley, SK. at the age of 82 years. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Columbkille R.C. Church, Grenfell, SK. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. by the Rev. Leonardo Tamayo Jr. Prayers will be held in St. Columbkille R.C. Church, Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Irene was predeceased by her husband Sam in 1978; her mother Christina Steininger in 1999; her father Frank Steininger in 1978; one brother Lloyd Steininger; two sisters one in infancy and Joan Ramstead; five brothers-in-law: John Yakimowski, John, Steve and Bill Velestuk and Irvin Sluz and one sister-in-law Ann Velestuk. Irene leaves to cherish her memory her children: son Larry (Debbie) Velestuk, Estevan and their family Tracy (Kevin) and their family Chase, Kylan and Tierra, Brent (Abbie) and their family Morgan, Alayna, Tierra; Kara (Joe) and their family Tristan and Nathan; Erin (Brian) and their son Evan; son Daryl (Donna) Velestuk, Medicine Hat and their son Tim (Shauna): son Wayne (Kelly) Velestuk, Saskatoon and their daughter Alexa-Rae (Robyn); daughter Cheryl (Leo) Loiselle, Red Deer; three brothers: Clarence (Bonnie) Steininger, Alvin (Darlene) Steininger and Norman Steininger, all of Grenfell; three sisters: Joyce (Jack) Golchesky, Oakshella; Darlene (Wayne) Issel, Neudorf and Lillian (Garry), Sluz, Creston, B.C.; two sisters-in-law Marge Steininger, Grenfell and Margaret Yakimowski, Regina; and her nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire contributions may be made to Lakeside Nursing Home Residents Activity Fund, Cheques payable to the Resident’s Activity Fund and sent to Laneside Nursing Home, Box 10, Wolseley, SK.
