I just found out that Larry died when I did a search for him.  I am so very sorry to hear this and I am also very sad that I did not know he passed 4 years ago.  Larry taught me how to fly......and taught me so much more than just how to handle an aircraft.  He was an excellent pilot/instructor.  He was silently tough and very challenging in a way that made you a much better pilot and, more importantly, decision maker.  He was also a GREAT guy.  I have attached a photo I took (with a very bad camera) back when I made one of my first flights.  I looked Larry up back in the early 2000's when he was already an examiner and it was so nice to see him.  I don't fly anymore but I think of him very often.  I am so sad today!  My thoughts are with his family and friends who miss him very much.  I love you Larry!

My heart is broken.  My junior high school sweetheart.  Every encounter with him was so rich, so good.  I honestly believe there was not a bad bone in his body or mind.  My deepest sympathies to his wife and family and friends.  In my mind, Larry Enlow will live forever.

I only had the pleasure to fly once with Larry for my initial Flight Instructor Certificate in 1999, he was very professional and a a wonderful person. I interacted with him in several FAA meetings and it was always a pleasure to hear him talking about any aviation subject. Make God be with him always and with his family. 

I worked with Larry at the FAA's Orlando Flight Standards District Office.  I have never known a finer, more righteous man than Larry Enlow.  He was the consummate professional and mentor for so many, including me.  I was honored to deliver one of several eulogies at his memorial service, and am pleased to share with the reader a bit of what I said.
Let me tell you about the Larry Enlow that I knew on the job.   
To say that Larry Enlow was an FAA Inspector is like saying that Albert Einstein was just a math teacher.  The first time I ever saw Larry, Ill never forget it, he was speaking in Lakeland at the FAA Safety Center, as it was then known.  That's where we do the great big Sun-n-Fun air show every year.  Larry, Obie Young and Steve Brady helped put that place on the map.  Well, Larry was doing a detailed review of every flight training aircraft accident over the last three years.  I watched Larry for just a minute, not really knowing who he was, and was convinced that he MUST have been the FAA's Regional Administrator.  He carried himself in such a way that I just KNEW this was someone important, someone with imprimatur.  And, he spoke with that familiar cadence that I call Larry Enlow Special English  He looked you in the eye, said it once, slowly, and didn't have to repeat himself.If you knew him, you know exactly what I mean.   And all that in the first minute!
Over the years I came to know Larry not only as a friend and mentor, but as a true leader, in fact the best guy I ever worked with, hands-down.  
Do you want the guy who's in charge, or do you want the guy who knows what's going on?  Sometimes Larry was the guy in charge , but he always was the guy who knew what was going on.  He was a masterful and balanced leader, a guy who took the initiative, got things done, got them done right, and always to an impeccably high standard.  And he took care of his people!  Consider these facts about The Great Larry Enlow:
-He was Principal Ops Inspector for several of the largest flight schools in the world, simultaneously, including: Embry-Riddle, Phoenix East, Aerosim, ATP and several smaller schools.  That's a full time job.
-At the same time, he flawlessly managed 60 hard-charging Designated Pilot Examiners by himself, also a full-time job.  And his files are bulletproof: never once did Big FAA ever find any discrepancies.
-But no matter how busy he was, Larry always had time for you!
-He knew the difference between management and leadership, and did both as only an expert leader can.
-He had an enormous circle of influence.  Among his many initiatives, Larry helped launch major upgrades to the way pilots are tested, and helped lead the development of what is now called ACS, or Airmen Certification Standards;
-He was the lead official for the Orlando District at Sun-n-Fun, leading a large team on nearly all aspects of our operational planning there for many years.
-He gave check rides in so many of the old warbirds like the B-17, B-24, B-25, and his beloved DC-3.
-He had excellent instincts on accident investigations, asked insightful questions, and knew how to drill down on a lead.  
-He recognized talent and potential in others very early and helped recruit so many good people who are now either DPE's or FAA employees. 
-He hated public speaking, but was actually pretty good at it anyway. He remembered names, faces, events, and details; what a tremendous gift!
-He never lost his temper, and always kept his head.  
It's as though the poem If by Rudyard Kipling was written about Larry Enlow. 
Larry was an Inspector's Inspector, a professional's professional, a gentleman's gentleman, and, of course, a pilot's pilot.  I travelled with him for years over thousands of miles and learned so much about our profession just by sitting next to him in the car or in the aircraft.  I have consciously tried to go just one day without mentioning Larry's name or something I learned from Larry Enlow, but it is not possible.  
Larry's loss hurts deeply, it's supposed to hurt.  If there's something nice you can say about Larry's passing it might be this: Larry had a profound influence on everything and everyone around him, and he Went West doing something he loved to do.   And one more thing: Larry Enlow's influence is in all of us.  That means, whether you realize it or not, he's a part, of all of us.  And someone who lives on in us, has never truly gone away.

Through my groups airshow work over the years, I had the great pleasure of getting to know Larry through interactions with the ORL FSDO. He was a great friend to general aviation and provided immeasurable assistance in the accomplishment of our mission.
In addition, Larry and I became friends and would meet for dinner whenever he was in the area for training.
His and Ron's loss has hit this community very hard and we will struggle to accept it. 
My sincere condolences to the family but, please know how much we all thought of him.

I worked with Larry for several years at the annual Sun-n-Fun Fly-In and Expo in Lakeland, FL. As Chairman of the Fly-Bys and Showcase daily event  I found Larry very helpful In solving problems as well as guidance in making special events possible from the FAA stand point. Larry was always willing to listen and give good advice on how to get things done safely. 
His loss will be a loss to all of us at Sun n Fun as well as to the entire flying community.

I had the pleasure of meeting  and flying with Mr Enlow at the FAA AFS-60 Flight Standards Div in the King Air 90 as a contract instructor.  We contract instructors where saddened to hear of the loss of Larry, as he always brought a great attitude and smile to the flight program offices whenever he was there.  RIP Mr Enlow and may you find clear skies and favorable winds.

I had the great pleasure of flying the DC3 with Larry and Ron. It was always a wonderful flight as he flew the airplane as a true professional. I will sincerely miss his company every few months as we caught up and he dodged "pink pigs" on the runway. May you rest in peace and I look forward to seeing you again on the other side.

I met Larry at a birthday celebration for Terri and was very impressed with him and his abilities and accomplishments. I cry silently and pray for us.

Larry was the most professional and caring aviation expert within the Federal Aviation Administration. He always had time to help with pilot examiner problems and provide support for all Pilot Examiners. It was a privilege working under his guidance as a Pilot Examiner for twelve years.

Larry was kind, caring and always willing to help in any way possible.  I worked with Larry during Sun 'n Fun.  He taught me what a true professional with a love for aviation can do for others.  Even during our most stressful times, he had a gentle way about him and a smile on his face that made you know everything would ultimately be fine.  May he now be soaring with angels.

While I only knew Larry for a short time at the Orlando FSDO, it was obvious that he was a stand up guy who would always help others. Larry will be missed by the entire staff here and I would like to express my sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I am so deeply saddened by the loss of Larry.  I knew him as many of us did - as a fellow pilot and from his time at the Orlando FSDO.  His passing is a huge loss for aviation in general and for the central Florida aviation community in particular.  The last time I had an office meeting with Larry, we got chatting about his wife Terri.  He spoke of her with a mix of awe and deep affection.  When he told me of her T-shirt with a C-5 on the front emblazoned with the words "Mine is bigger than yours", I laughed out loud and asked him to go home and bow to his wife on my behalf.  Honestly, even though I knew Larry strictly professionally, I still get choked up thinking that he is not here anymore.  He was such a wonderful fellow.  Such an exemplary pilot and so good at his job.  The last time I chatted with him (just a few days before he passed) we had a fascinating discussion about torque runaway while standing on the ramp at KDED airport.  Though I have never met Terri and the rest of his family - I pass on my very deepest condolences for the loss of this wonderful man.

What a privilege it has been to work with Larry in the Orlando FSDO over the last nine-plus years.  Within minutes of meeting him, you knew he was very special.  He never let you down in any way.  God bless you, Larry.  We will surely miss you.

Terri and family. I'm so sorry for your loss. And as you described, his loss will be felt in the aviation industry. Especially in the FAA. I worked out of the SLC FSDO and was lucky enough to meet Larry on the road for work and have dinner with him a few times with others from his office. One of the other guys in the Orlando office would call me the Enlow of SLC. I couldn't think of a greater compliment than being compared to Larry. I was just trying to get a hold of him that day to ask him a question. Please know we are all here for you too and all of the family. Sending lots of love.

Obie introduced me to Larry at the Lakeland Production Studio in the early 90's. At the time, I was transitioning in assignments from Principal Operation Inspector to unit supervisor.  The FAA was under another hiring freeze that was just coming to an end.  Larry submitted his application after some gentle coaxing from Obie and his friends.  It was a substantial reduction in salary as compared his earnings as a Vice President for Hubbard Construction.  Nevertheless, Larry chose to make a difference in aviation safety over money considerations. After Larry was hired and completed indoctrination training at the FAA Academy he demonstrated through quality work and high ethical standards that he was fit, willing, and able to become a very competent, full spectrum Aviation Safety Inspector (ASI), followed by earned promotions to Assistant Principal Operations Inspector (APOI), and finally Principal Operations Inspector (POI). Beyond his impeccable character and skills as a natural pilot, he was a leader by example.  A significant part of Larry's legacy will live on by those inspectors who were hired by the FAA because of his reliable judgment and common sense recommendations. During the 17 years we worked together I saw Larry excel in virtually every task assigned and some unassigned! I came to appreciate Larry's love of family while attending his father's funeral. I will always remember daughter Emily's display of raw courage and resolve to carry on while singing that special song for Pappa E. Despite such deep sorrow - this too shall pass. Several years later I attended Larry and Terri's beautiful wedding. Two accomplished aviators with the Right Suff to keep each other happy! Larry was the happiest man ever.  If you ever met Terri, no explanation required! Even better was their trip to Scotland and the origin of Larry's ancestors. My heart and prayers go out to Larry and Terri's family and to all who are stunned and shocked by Larry's untimely passing. I first met Larry at the Executive Air Center on the west ramp of the Orlando Executive Airport in the 90's. Larry was a member of the Orlando Aero Club. I only had the privilege of knowing inspector Enlow a very short time, to be exact September this year. So much has been said as to what a amazing aviator, as well as a true professional,and gentleman he was.I certainly concur. We had flown only three times together, but each time  he conveyed so much knowledge and experience to me.  It was amazing that as he walked into the FBO you just knew he was respected by all he came into contact with.I will always remember the things he taught me. My thoughts and prayers to the Inspectors friends and family.

I never actually met Larry in person,but spoke with him many times on the phone. A consumate professional and true gentleman, he will be missed by the entire aviation community.

My sincere condolences to Larry Enlow's family. We have lost an incredible human being, friend, colleague and FAA inspector admired and cherished by those who knew him. Enlow's extraordinary knowledge of the designated pilot examiner program and airmen certification requirements made him a subject matter expert in these areas. As the DPE focal point for the Orlando FSDO, inspector Larry Enlow did a superb job. Larry Enlow was the person to contact when anyone had a question regarding these disciplines. He was available 24/7 for anyone who needed his assistance. His demeanor, character, professionalism, knowledge and skills made him an outstanding inspector. Sadly and with a broken heart I have to say his departure is a huge loss for his family, friends, the Orlando FSDO, to the whole FAA and the aviation community. We will miss him deeply, but his legacy as highly knowledgeable and dedicated aviation professional will last forever.

My sister, Sally Kelly and I lived across the street from the Enlows, Larry, his mother Avis, and his father Lawrence for many years beginning in 1956. They were all the "salt of the earth", and family friends for years.  Larry was in my wedding and we remained close even after I moved to Connecticut. I wish he had many more years to show the world what a fine man he was.

I only had the privilege to meet Larry a few times. Even though I did not know him well, I came away with the impression of having met a true professional and southern gentleman in every sense of the word. Every life he touched has experienced a loss today. To Terri, his family and friends, please accept my sincerest condolences.

Larry will be missed by everyone who knew him in the aviation community.  Always a pro, he was one of the best FAA examiners who was truly "there to help."  His life in aviation will be an example to others.

Larry is the reason I am doing what I have been doing for the past 10 years which is training and qualifying pilots. He has been one of the few great mentors in my life besides my dad. I am honored to have worked with him and perhaps be considered to be one of his "little pups". I will truly miss him and I will pray for his family for what must be a tremendous loss. I am confident he has his real wings now.

We still look at each other in disbelief that Larry is gone; yet we vow to carry on his aviation and life mission as best we can. His leadership and kindred spirit will be greatly missed.

I had the pleasure and honor of working with Larry for 15 years at the ORL FSDO. I always learned something on the many times that we flew together. Even after I retired, we remained friends and got together for lunch and other social occasions. My sincerest condolences to Terri and his family.

I have known and worked with Larry for over 20 years. It has been such a pleasure to serve and work with him. He was always available 24hours a day to assist Pilot Examiners. If you had a question or a problem you could always count on Larry finding the answer or solution. This is an unbelievable tragic loss for the aviation community. I have had the pleasure to fly with Larry numerous times over the past 20 years. A true professional who was passionate and dedicated to aviation. As a peer in our aviation community, Larry was one of our fondest professionals.  We knew he loved aviation as much or more than we.  He helped us old warbird pilots and owners get though the red tape of government bureaucracy with a cheerfulness and confidence that we knew he was on our side. I am still in denial/shock to the news of Mr. Larry's demise. I heard nothing but awesome things about him for over a year but never met him. I was finally opportuned to sit with him for about an hour in August 2016 and He was better than described. As a person his disposition, demeanor and charisma are so likeable. As a professional/pilot/inspector he was the best. He is one of those people you meet briefly but leave you with an eternal impact. This world and the aviation industry will miss you dearly. Larry was an extraordinary aviator and mentor, and his passing leaves a void in not only the aviation community, but in all of our lives whom he made such a positive difference to. Larry Enlow was so much more than a great pilot and FAA Inspector. He was a great man and a model for what each of us should aspire to be.

Our Aviation Community suffered an enormous loss with the passing of Larry.  He was a true professional pilot and FAA Inspector.  I had the pleasure of being his co-worker for many years and he was by far the most knowledgeable FAA Inspector I have ever met.  He oversaw the DPE and CFI programs within the district for many years and was instrumental in enhancing the safety of General Aviation.  Having flown with him many times and in several different aircraft, he was an extremely skillful pilot.  He was a PILOTS' PILOT that everyone strives to be.  There are no words to express the loss of such a remarkable and respected person, may you rest in peace.

I only had the opportunity to meet Larry Enlow three times in person, but each time I was impressed with his warmth, professionalism and obvious love for aviation. While I worked with him only for a short time, I can safely say that the single largest achievement of my life almost certainly would not have happened without his support and guidance.
I only had the opportunity to fly with Larry once, during my airplane qualification to become a Pilot Examiner. I think I learned more in three hours that afternoon than I have learned in 14 years of flying. It is a rare privilege to share the cockpit with someone of Larry's experience, and I'm mournful that I didn't have the opportunity to spend more time with him.
Mentorship is a time-honored tradition in aviation, and it was abundantly obvious to me that Larry took this tradition seriously. It is people like him that I look up to and hold as an example for my own behavior. He had no pressing requirement to take a 26 year old CFI and walk him through the process to become a DPE, but he did it anyway. He didn't have to give me his cell phone number with instructions to call him 24/7 if I ever needed anything. Those actions were above and beyond what his job expected of him, but he did it anyway, and I thank him for it.
Larry was a man of rare skill and talent, and there is literally no one qualified to fill his shoes. Men like him are few and far between, and I lament his loss. To paraphrase another legend of aviation, "There is a difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician, and the latter is an artist in love with his craft." Larry Enlow was very much an aviator.

My sincere condolences to the Enlow family on this tragic loss. I have known Larry for a number of years professionally and he was a great ambassador of the FSDO. He was always helpful,professional and respectful. 
One time I asked him if he played golf. He said, "I don't play golf.I wish all golf courses were airports." The aviation community has lost a great son. Our love and prayers from the management and staff of Daytona Aviation Academy and Daytona Flying Academy.

When I speak to folks about losing Larry, a friend of mine since 2000, I discribe him as the local late Bob Hoover, to what I felt Larry meant to the aviation community and me. He was the pilots pilot, a mentors mentor and I can go on and on. As a colleague, Larry was an oracle that always had the RIGHT answer with more patience than I can describe. I know how much I will miss him; may God bless and look over his closer friends and most importantly, his family in this very difficult time.

When I met Larry two years ago at the 708 MAS reunion I knew you two were right for each other. Larry was a real gentleman. I enjoyed talking to him about his flying career. He got to do a lot of things others pilots just dream about. Wish I had gotten to know him better. From just that short day I could tell that Larry adored you Terri. God bless Larry, you Terri and the Family.

I met this extraordinary man in the year 2012 and he was very kind to dedicate his time and guide me to achieve and get my dream, my ATP license. Fly high Mr Enlow.

My sincere condolences to the Enlow family. I have known Larry since 2000. He was always very friendly and professional. We happened to cross paths several times through out the years. We worked together before we became colleagues. Any time we runned into each other it was a pleasure to talk with him. Rest in Peace.

One of my greatest honors was complying with Larry's request to submit a letter of reference for him to the FAA.  We spoke often on aviation safety as he was keenly aware of the potential perils of the vocation.  He was a mans man and a pilots pilot.  Loved the flying club Citabria (60L) but was totally enamored with Terri.  He still holds the record for driving his Triumph up the three floors of the frat house in Gainesville!  Weapon of choice, short barrel 12 gauge pump! He moved the last B52 on MCO to the park and sat it on moorings.  Never to be forgotten.  Love you, Larry!

There is no way to express my feelings for my very special son-in-law.  He called me often -- especially after back surgery -- to make sure I was okay.  He would say, "Is this my Mommy?"  He was always available to fix things for me. I would be sure to have plenty of shrimp when he was there plus I had to hide some for him to be able to take home.  What a loving son-in-law he was.  Also the best "boss" to have, always there to help with questions about regulations, yet very strict as well, emphasizing that I should be strict with students for their own good.  His love was Deep as was my love for him.

Larry was a gracious and humble man. He loved aviation and was a great friend to my husband, Ron. God called both of them home that day and I have to believe they are sharing stories about that final flight. My most humble prayers go out to his wife, Terri and all members of his family. He will be missed by many and we are all blessed to have known Larry.

A wonderful Man who cared and believed in the work he accomplished as a Federal Aviation Administration Inspector. I consider it an honor to have worked beside him.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working w/Larry since January 2008.  Larry was the consummate professional every day that I had the pleasure of working w/him.  He was always willing to take the time to speak to you, help out in any way possible, always positive and upbeat no matter what the situation.  He was the epitome of what every Aviation Safety Inspector should aspire to become.......saying he will be missed is an understatementhe has left a huge whole in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.  It was an honor and privilege to have known an worked with him.  He will be truly missed and I am a better person for having known him and had the opportunity to work with him.

I was going to say these tributes are incredible, but --no-- this is Larry Enlow we're talking about.  He was extraordinary in his professional life and stunning in his personal life.  I honestly don't know how I got so lucky but I used to Thank God every day for Larry and pray for as much time as possible with him. He touched everyone.  My precious man...even our Mail Man is grieving.

I met Larry through his wonderful and beautiful wife, and one of my very dearest friends, Terrie  Lynn Lynam Enlow.  Marrying Terrie gave him the happiest, best, most satisfied and most loving last twelve years of his life.  His career was at its best.  His desire for excellence in all that he did created only admiration, inspiration and loyalty from all who knew him.  God doesn't make mistakes.  He took Larry home at the top his game for a purpose none of us can see, right now.  He has a plan. For his loved ones, both family and loyal friends, my heart breaks for the grief we now share.   Larry's earthly absence is and will be felt for as long as the rest of us live.  He has left a legacy that will take many to fill what he achieved alone.  His personal standards in everything he did will cause many to strive for the same.  Larry will be missed, but we're all better people for having known him.  I am very grateful for the time I got to spend with him and Terrie this past summer.   As the grief and sadness heals, we will all be left with wonderful memories.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.  Larry was such a nice person and a great pilot.  I had the privilege of knowing Larry over the past few years when he came to the FAA Flight Program Operations office in Fort Worth to complete his EBC events.  He will be missed.

It was an honor and a privilege to work with Larry on aviation safety improvement over the past few years. He was an early and avid supporter of efforts to transition from the PTS to the integrated ACS, and everyone involved in this effort recognizes the magnitude of Larry's participation. In addition to his many direct contributions - always offered in his friendly and humble way - Larry advanced the ACS through his influence with so many others in the agency and the community. The general view was that "if Larry thinks it merits support, then I'm on board too." I fondly remember conversations with him, both face-to-face and by phone, and I still smile to remember his enthusiasm for flying anything - but especially the DC-3. Larry was taken from us far too soon, but the aviation safety work he did on earth will be part of his legacy - we will never forget. God bless all those left behind...eternal blue skies and tailwinds to our beloved friend Larry.

The ultimate picture of professionalism, Larry was truly one of the nicest people I have ever known.  Always a friend of the AFS Flight Program we always looked forward to his quarterly trips to Fort Worth (along with sidekick, Steve).  I first met Larry when he was an ASO King Air IP, ready and willing to take on any mission needed.  This loss is un-measurable because of the many individuals impacted by his kindness and knowledge.  My deepest condolences to his family, friends and coworkers.  God bless and keep you.

A true "one of a kind"!  Although I only had the honor of knowing Larry for 2 years, he had a huge impact on my training in the FSDO.  His patience, unbelievable knowledge about aviation, and sense of humor touched so many of us and I'm a better person for having known him.

I met Larry in the spring of 2008, when he came to Griffin and typed me in DC-3, N28AA. He gave me quite a work out!  When I later whined about the length of the oral and flight, he laughed and said, They would not have been if you hadn't talked so much and been trying so hard to impress me. Always complementary, he was a sage mentor too. We would meet again every other year so he could do my recurrent checks, and invariably, we would culminate the day over a fine dinner washed down with adult beverages at Ron Alexander's Barnstormer's Grill. He is, and will continue to be, deeply missed.  While his body may be gone, we know his spirit will continue to soar.

I had the honor of getting to know Larry during my time at Delta Connection Academy (Sanford, FL) and currently at ERAU (Daytona Beach, FL). Larry was instrumental on mentoring key leadership personnel within the Flight Training Departments at both flight schools and spearheaded extremely robust Aviation Safety Action Programs (ASAP). Larry's calm demeanor, mentorship and love for aviation will truly be missed!

The sheer number of praise filled entries in this guestbook says almost all of it. I've known Larry for over 40 years.  A man of Quality.  A consummate professional.  A gift to our aviation industry and its pilots.  May God comfort the family.  I will miss him and think of him often.  I know that he is with the Lord and I pray I'll see him again.

This was such a terrible tragedy. Words can't express how sorry I am. I met Larry in SJU when I used to do the checks on the C-90. Later, I realized that he was my successor on the DC-3. All I have to say about Larry is that he was an example of an excellent FAA Inspector, and even better as a person.

I have known Larry since beginning my tour with the Orlando FSDO in Jan 1999. He was always the perfect example of what an inspector should be, and the consummate gentleman. Working with him in the office and at Sun N Fun was always an enjoyable and educational experience.

Larry was a great friend to me.  We completed FAA Inspector Indoc at OKC together back in 1998.  Through the years, Larry volunteered to the FAA Preemployment Program to administer Preemployment Checkrides.  I had great respect for his knowledge of the Regulations and his flying abilities.  This is a huge loss for the FAA.  He died doing what he loved and was highly respected not only from the FAA but also from the flying Industry.  I will miss sharing "Shelby Mustang" stories with him.  He will be missed. God speed.

I have known Larry too many years to count and he was my "go to guy" for FAA operations questions. I always looked forward to working with him, especially at Sun'n Fun. I mourn his loss not only for personal reasons but also the void he has left in the aviation community.

Larry was one of the kindest gentleman I have been privileged to know.  He was a thoroughly professional  airman in all respects.  He will be sorely missed.

I knew this man for over forty years.  His death feels like the loss of a family member. Few people have impacted my life more then Larry. His dedication, knowledge, and friendship will never be forgotten.  He gave back so much more then he took. My life is better from knowing Larry Enlow.

I know Larry from his Atlanata visits for DC3 work. He gave me my type rating a couple months ago and Ron Alexander was the copilot. A real profession and a pleasure to work with. The loss of Larry and Ron is a terrible blow to aviation. Our prayers for the family.

I had the honor and privilege to know Larry from the late 90's when I came to Orlando and then to work with him at FAA being responsible in our respective districts of the DPE program. He was a great person and will be truly missed. The aviation world is a better place from Larry being a part of it. RIP, Larry!

We lost our best man. Larry cannot be replaced. He would drop anything to help, no matter how busy he was. I always thought of him as invincible. He was my friend and mentor, and I miss him terribly. May he forever rest in peace.

Larry was a great friend, he was my POI for almost 20 years. We had many good flights together in my T6. He will be missed terribly by myself and many others. Heartfelt prayers to Terry and family. God speed.

Mr. Enlow was, and will always be, the type of inspector, airman, and professional that I aspire to be. I first had the honor of meeting him in 2003 when he would come out to Embry-Riddle. I didn't know him well when but always learned a lot when I flew with him.

On Tuesday October 18, 2016 I was sitting in my hotel room in Ft. Worth having just completed my EBC. I was tired and wanted to lay down and watch a movie. Mr. Enlow had just gotten in town and called me asking if I wanted to come meet him for dinner. I hesitated for a minute pondering my options. "I can't stand Larry up and make him eat alone." and I hurried to go meet him.

It was one of my best times with Larry. We ate and drank as he told me about growing up in Orlando and how he used to watch the DC-3's roar over his house as a kid. How'd he's ride his bicycle over to the airport to watch airplanes. We sat there for about two hours with him telling me stories. I'll always remember that dinner.

I will miss Larry more than I can express. I'm glad to have known him and all that he had to offer.

The Aviation Community lost a Mentor and Friend. Larry was the go to guy for a lot of us. I will miss the conversations. God Bless.

Larry was a dear friend who holds some of my most cherished junior and high school memories.  Larry, and his parents, always had an open door policy with his friends. They made you feel special every time you dropped by to visit and that special friendship continued no matter how much time passed between us. He truly deserves  all the kind words that are expressed above from people who  got to know him through his professional life. I do pray for his precious wife I was fortunate to meet at our 50th high school reunion. May your memories of him sustain you and may God comfort you and strengthen you in the days ahead.

Larry was a terrific mentor and consummate professional aviator: holder of a Doctorate in Airman Certification.  There is a lot of Larry in my logbook, but the best times with him were logged in my heart. Sail gently westward dear friend; fair winds and following seas.

Larry is truly missed at work beyond words but his aviation legacy still lives on within each and everyone of our hearts... Heaven has gained a Great angel.

I knew Larry since September 2004 and I TRULY only have great things to say about him.  I always found him to be extremely knowledgeable, so very helpful, nice, respectful and so much more with everyone, within and out of the work place.  He was an absolute class of a gentleman! I'm honored to have known him, worked with him, learned from him and spent some personal time with him.  I also thank him for his service to our country, a Vietnam Veteran.  You will be missed tremendously Larry, I'm still in shock.  May God Bless you and your whole family!

Larry will be missed within the FAA and in industry. I gave Larry a DC-3 check ride earlier that day with Ron Alexander. I was also present on their last flight. I will never heal. Larry and I have been doing DC-3 things for 9 years and I considered him as a brother. I am at the lack of words and still in a state of shock and with deep sadness. May Larry rest in peace and may his family fully heal.

I had the opportunity to work with Larry through out my 25 years with the NTSB. He was a great friend and was always there when you needed him. He was a Vietnam veteran who helped me through some difficult times. Larry was always available to every one and made your day brighter even when the sun was not shining. Rest in the Lord Larry.
