Helen G. Serros

Helen Serros, 92, was surrounded by her loving family as she went home to the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2017. Born in Turlock, CA to Victor and Lena Gentile, she and her family moved to Orlando two years later. She attended St. Joseph Academy, now St. James Cathedral School, from kindergarten through high school. She worked with her father at Gentile Bros. Co. until marrying the love of her life, Andy, in 1950. For 57 years they devoted their lives to each other and to raising their six children. They were inseparable and a beautiful example of when two become one. She was happiest in her kitchen, selflessly preparing family meals and greeting all who entered her home with a warm heart. She left a legacy of a strong Catholic faith and placing all her trust in God. Her love of family was expressed in everything she did. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Andy, her son, Victor, and her sister, Vera Lee Gentile. She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Gentile and Dolores Gentile, her five daughters, Marianne (Bill) Lyon, Nancy (Wyatt) Carrell, Carolyn (Fran) Mullin, Shirley Welch, Joanne Serros, 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren with one on the way. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando, FL 32804. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 526 N Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789.
