I remember being young, it must have been the late sixties or early seventies, travelling from Birmingham to London Euston on the train. The onto the tube underground. To Brixton.  And then walking up to the house to see miss Pearl. My mum’s cousin Mrs Girley.

Miss Pearl always had a warm welcome for us when we came.
Cousin Pearl being kind thats what I can remember. 
She introduced me to guava jelly or jam. That’s what we call it over here.. and warning me not to drink the London water from the tap. I think it had to be boiled.

I remember I had a younger cousin. Wayne and his mum miss Kim. 
I remember miss Pearl left London for a new life abroad. I never saw miss Pearl again. 
I remembered telling my own children about my childhood memories.
I never forgot those happy memories and the warm kindness Miss Pearl gave our family.
I made a connection with my cousin Wayne , Miss Pearls grandson,recently . He told me that she wasn’t in good health at that time.
It’s sad to know that that the Almighty Creator. Has taken Miss Pearl home home . 
I never maintained contact with you but you made a great impact. You always been in my thoughts. 
Glad to have met you for that time. May you rest in eternal peace beautiful cousin Pearl.
