Dr. Larry A Pearce

August 27 in Winston Salem, NC. He was 88 years old. He was preceded in death by his

supportive wife, Mary Frances. He said that marrying her was the best decision that he ever

made. They were blessed with 60 years together. He is survived by his three children, Allen

and his spouse, Shin-Ru, of Novi, Michigan, Michael of Swansboro, N.C., and Cathy and her

spouse, Todd, of Winston-Salem, N.C. He loved and prayed daily for his six wonderful

grandchildren, Zachary, Elizabeth, Margaret, Charlotte, Constance, and Daniel.

He was born on June 30, 1935, in Cerro Gordo, NC to Charles and Annie Lou Pearce. He

graduated from Wake Forest College in 1957 and from Bowman Gray School of Medicine in

1961. He enjoyed attending his 60

th medical reunion which took place online. He did his

post-doctoral work in Pharmacology and was on the faculty at Duke University. He served three

years in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and was on the faculty at

Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

He spent most of his medical career in neurology at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, N.C. In

1997, he got to realize his dream of opening up his private practice, Dayspring Medical in

Mocksville, N.C. His favorite part about being a doctor was caring for his many patients.

In addition to his medical career, he was a man of God. He was passionate about praying for

people and serving as an elder at Reynolda Presbyterian Church. He was active in the Full

Gospel Businessmen’s Association. He will be lovingly remembered for his sweet nature, his

generosity, and his clever wit that would bring a smile. He never missed a chance to show his

family and friends his love and God’s unfailing love. He will be deeply missed. “Love never

fails” (1 Corinthians 13:8a).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Reynolda Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. on

September 8, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 1:15pm and all are invited to be with the

family.
