John Dalton Peacock, Jr., 74, of Kernersville passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born October 15, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to John Dalton Peacock, Sr. and Mary Lou Murphy Peacock.
John was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army where he worked as an Artillery Forward Observer. He loved his family and his country dearly, and had a very special place in his heart for animals.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Murphy Peacock; two sons, John Peacock, III (Debbie) and Jeffrey Butler (Jennifer); a daughter, Stephanie Auch (Scott); grandchildren, Devin Nathaniel Auch, Trevor John Peacock, Soren Christopher Auch, Ethan William Peacock, Sophie Kathleen Auch, Thomas Dalton Peacock, Claire Jean Peacock, Jordyn Bailey (Will), Joshua Butler and Kacie Butler; two sisters, Peggy Connolly-Ingleson and Candy Peacock Fredo (Tony); and two brothers, Stephen Peacock (Lisa) and Peter Peacock (Emily).
A graveside service with Military Rites will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Forsyth Memorial Park.
