David was a very generous and faithful man who loved the Lord and served his family until the day he went to reunite with his Creator. David wanted everyone to know the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to have peace and joy, for everyone to know their true origins as one human race made in the image and likeness of Christ, and for everyone to appreciate each other's differences and get along. He was deeply involved in helping people from around the world to get their citizenship to the USA and begin steady employment. Being bilingual in Spanish, he was especially helpful to the Latin community for many years alongside his wife. In his earlier life, he attended Clemson University and took a semester off to save up for a Corvette. During that semester off, he was drafted and chosen to serve in the Coast Guard where he spent over a year serving in Thailand during the Vietnam Conflict. He achieved E-6 in the matter of a few short years and got out honorably. David later went on to work at RJR and retired after 32 years of faithful work and providing for his family. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston Salem where he gave generously to help many people in many ways. David was a highly intelligent and gifted man that after setting his mind on things could virtually master things. He was a very gifted musician who taught his grandson, Benaiah, to play the organ. He contributed many volumes of work on his websites, creation4000bc.com and knowyourtrueorigins.com in his studies of the book of Genesis. He deeply loved his wife of 53 years, and he was faithful to her to the day he left us. We will all forever be better because of who he was.
David was the son of Wilbur Alderman Hafford, a World War 2 combat wounded veteran with a heart like Christ, and Julia Calhoun Hafford, who was the sweetest woman this world has known. He is survived by his wonderful and faithful wife, Maria Rivera Hafford. His daughter Andrea Xochil Hafford Fairchild and her husband Jeremy Reynolds Fairchild with their children Luke and Ezra Fairchild. His son Daniel Joshua Hafford and his wife Carly Thompson Hafford and their children Benaiah, Lydia and Milo Hafford. He has many people around the world who would consider David as a father figure to them due to the impact he had.
