Betty Sue Myers Linville passed away on December 25, 2022 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was born in Winston-Salem to the late Manuel L. and Florence Moore Myers on Jan 24, 1931. She attended Central School grades 1-7 and Gray High School grades 8-12. She graduated in 1949 and was then employed at Southern Bell Telephone Company for 3 years. She then worked at RJR Tobacco Company, first in sales and later in Employee Benefits, retiring in 1985. After retiring, she was active in her church, as well as in volunteer activities until her health began to decline. She was a member of First Alliance Church on Pope Road. She loved attending church and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Sisters (and brothers-in-law): Pauline Myers Holder (Lender A. Holder), Ima Myers McKnight (James Robert McKnight), Lucile Myers Shaw (William John Shaw); Children: Kandy Sue Linville Smith, David Keith Linville. Survivors include: Daughter Cheryle Linville Hawkins and son-in-law Raymond Hawkins, 2 grandchildren: Christopher Ray Smith, Michelle Smith Lane; 6 great grandchildren (Kadyn Sawyer, Christopher Smith, Caleb Sawyer, Kinsley Sawyer, Sierra Smith, Karagan Lane), 1 step great granddaughter (Lisa Marie Smith); 1 great great grandson (Emmitt Sawyer); 2 step grandchildren: Ashlee Hawkins, Tray Hawkins; 1 step great grandson (Myles Hawkins). The family extends a special thank you to Trellis Supportive Care and the special staff there who loved her and walked this year-long journey close by her side. A memorial service at First Alliance Church will be held on January 7 at 2PM.
