William Raymond Hutmacher

It is with deepest sorrow, after a short courageous battle with Lymphoma Cancer, that we announce, Our Dad, William Raymond Hutmacher went to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 14, 2021 at the age of 84.

Dad was born on June 27, 1936 in Bruno Saskatchewan, a farming community that he was raised and schooled, finishing grades at St. Benedict Saskatchewan where the family ran the Cafe. Dad was predeceased by his parents Margaret and William Sr. Hutmacher, and his brother Kenneth. He is survived by his wife, Helen of 58 years, son Darrell, daughter Beverly (Dave) Rutkowski, grandchildren Travis Austin and Karen; brother Donald (Cheryl) and family; sister-in-law Goldene and family; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

After college, Dad gained Accounting employment with UMA / Aecon, retiring with over 40 years of service on June 30, 1998. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Always enjoying family times, birthdays, holidays, camping, bowling, curling, cribbage and card games. He found great pleasure spending time at the family cottage in Traverse Bay with four legged and winged friends, all the neighbours, around the fire pit or evening canasta card games and maybe a scotch. Dads other passion was (road) travel to hometown family visits, especially to San Antonio, Texas the home of the grandkids! He had spent and lost time at the casino, with success at solitaire jumble and words search, he prospered at channel surfing sports especially beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Yankees and of course Saskatchewan Go Green Riders, He always maintained unconditional Love.

In keeping with wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
