May 11, 1961 – October 10, 2013
Mark passed away peacefully on October 10, with his family by his side. He had a short battle with cancer and we were humbled by his courage and life spirit.
Mark loved life and had a special love for music which started in his teen years when he was the Drummer for the Crash Test Dummies. That love continued throughout his life. He was also a devoted body builder and won the Mr. Manitoba championship in 1984. His interest in computer graphics generated extraordinary art. Mark was also a very enthusiastic hockey fan.
He leaves to mourn his devoted companion of four years Irena Gordon and her twin boys; mother Loretta Pawlyk; stepfather John Pawlyk; father John William Saranchuk; brother Kevin (Chris Bartlett); niece Mandy (Cory Smith) Saranchuk, their children Devin and Callie; and nephew Steven Saranchuk.
Mark was predeceased by his stepmother Joan Saranchuk; maternal grandparents Steve and Mary Laniuk and paternal grandparents Bill and Jessie Saranchuk.
The celebration of Mark’s life will be held Friday, October 18, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at the palliative care unit of the St. Boniface Hospital for the wonderful care they provided to Mark and their support to the family.
We would also like to thank Mark’s co-workers and close friends Sheila Yosyk and Amy Johnson. A special thank you to Mark’s aunt Deloris Laniuk and niece Mandy Saranchuk.
