After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Linda with family by her side. Linda is survived by her spouse Murray of 23 years, brother Rick (Monique), nephew Adam, niece Leanne, great niece Avery, sister in law Lorraine, step daughter Carrie (Rob), step son Derek, and step grandsons Jordan and Logan.
Linda was born and raised in Winnipeg. After completing her high school education, Linda entered the workforce. In April of 1973, Linda was hired by the Winnipeg Police Service as a clerk where she worked for 3 years. In 1975, Linda was assigned as a regular constable. During her career, she served in many roles, and on March 29, 1987, she made history being the first female officer promoted to the rank of sergeant. Linda retired from the police service in 2002.
Throughout her lifetime, Linda was actively and passionately involved in the fitness industry where she promoted health and wellness. She found joy in teaching fitness classes throughout her adult life helping others.
Linda loved to travel, especially to her favorite place Barbados. She loved gardening, to golf, bike and she loved her personal chef “Murray” cooking for her.
Her greatest joy was to spend time with family, her numerous friends, her dogs and especially her grandsons, Jordan and Logan.
Linda will be honored on July 10, 2024, at 1PM at 50 Bluegrass Road.
We would love to thank all Doctors and Nurses who cared for Linda throughout her journey. In lieu of flowers, we ask all donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
-Rest in Peace, Linda-
