Jack is survived by his wife Carolin, daughters Alannah and Rebecca, mom and stepdad Diane and Bryan Arthur, stepmom Dorothy Rice, siblings Jeff (Shelby), Pam, half siblings Lexi (Aly), Brad (Marnie), Tyler (Nicole), and stepbrothers Andrew (Tammea), Colin (Kelly) and Jon (Silvana). Along with his in-laws, Peter and Ruth Henry and their families Bruce (Margot), Kurt and De (Jo), Jack is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and one great nephew. He was predeceased by his Uncle Gord Rice, father Tom Rice and grandparents.
Jack had a full life that was unfinished. Born December 31, 1958 in Brandon, Manitoba, he and his family moved to Portage la Prairie in 1969 where he later attended and graduated from Portage Collegiate. In 1980 while working at Jack Fraser Menswear, Jack met Carolin. He moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan for work, while Carolin attended Success Business College in Winnipeg. Upon completion of her course, Carolin followed and they were married in 1982. Work brought them back to Portage la Prairie and eventually Winnipeg where he and Carolin raised their daughters.
Jack’s passion for golf and the Toronto Maple Leafs was only surpassed by his love for his girls; Carolina, Lannah Banana, Becky Bob and his loyal furry friend, Penny. A great salesman in his youth, Jack began his own handyman business in later years which he enjoyed immensely. He was also very proud of his volunteering with Com Span, a service that supports adults with developmental disabilities. Whether on family trips, golf trips, attending the infamous dinner clubs, making wine in the basement, or enjoying time in the backyard with a scotch and a cigar, Jack lived well and loved fully.
A private service was held on March 6th, 2017.
