Jennifer Rebecca Lafond

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we share the passing of Jennifer Rebecca Lafond, who left us on October 13, 2024, after bravely facing a battle with cancer. Her spirit and strength were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Laura and Joseph Lafond, Jen spent her early years in Salmo, British Columbia—a place that filled her with cherished memories, and that she always held close to her heart. Eventually, her family returned to Manitoba, where she graduated from Steinbach Regional Secondary School in 1990. Always eager to learn, she later pursued certificates in Computer Accounting and Bartending at Red River College, showing her versatility and drive.

At the core of Jen's life was her deep love for her family. She was a devoted and nurturing mother to her three children, whom she raised with unwavering care and dedication. While staying home to support her family, she also managed the bookkeeping for the family farm. Her pride in her children was boundless, and she celebrated their successes with joy, always finding ways to be involved in their lives and share in their passions.

In 2021, Jen found her soulmate in Amy, her beloved wife. Though their time together was far too short, it was filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. In 2023, they sealed their bond in marriage, cherishing each precious moment they spent together, and creating memories that will last forever.

Jen was a firecracker, and her vibrant spirit was undeniable. She was a bright light, known for her sharp wit, generosity, and magnetic energy. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, her generosity, and her charisma, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Jen is lovingly remembered by her wife Amy, and her children, Sydney, Zachary, and Casey. She reunites now with her parents, Laura and Joseph, who predeceased her.

A funeral service to honour Jen's life will be held at 2:00 pm, November 4, 2024 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. A private interment will take place at a later date.
