James Wayne Derhak

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Margot, and their children Kathleen and Colin, his siblings Janice Gerylo (Steve), Bob Derhak (Debbie), Randy Derhak (Carol), Bonnie Derhak-Semeniuk (Mark), and his Mother-in-law Shelia Anderson. Nieces and nephews: Randy Jr. (Kristen), Sean (Kelly), Andrea, Breanne (Bryan), Stacey (Trevor), Ashley (Barett), Bobby, as well as great nieces and nephews Mila, Dexx, Avie, Kate, Annabeth, Oliver, Liam, Brody and Finnley.

James was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on July 19, 1958. He graduated from the Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School and went onto Red River College where he completed the Electronics Engineering Technology program. After numerous jobs within the IT field, he was most recently employed at Canadian Tire as Site Operations Manager at the Winnipeg Data Centre until his passing.

James enjoyed spending time with his family, going to movies, eating out, camping and attending Folklorama. He loved spending time out in his shed fixing things and doing woodwork.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and health care professionals at Cancer Care Manitoba and the Riverview Health Centre for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. Donations may be made in James’ memory to Cancer Care Manitoba or Riverview Health Centre Foundation.

The memorial service will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home.
