Mom was born in Chaco, Paraguay, September 16, 1939. That is where she met then married our dad On July 17, 1958. It was almost 9 years later that we left our life in Paraguay behind to move to Canada. So, as a family we moved to Winnipeg in April 1967.
Mom was always a hard worker at all jobs that she did. At the end of her working career working at Vincent Massey Collegiate, in the Fort Garry School Division.
She had an amazing gift for growing plants! Anytime you would go to her house she would beam with pride and show you both her flower and vegetable gardens. Although we all may think we have mastered the fine art of making mom’s chicken soup, no one’s soup compares to moms!
Our family would like to extend our greatest appreciation to the following organizations and the amazing people that assisted along our mother’s journey to provide her with all her needs.
WRHA Councellors, River Ridge Care facility, St. Boniface Hospital, Fred Douglas Heritage House as well as the Dr.s and nurses at the Health Sciences Center Neurology ward in her final weeks.
Services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019, at 2:00 pm with viewing at 1:00 pm at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
